Nicki Minaj has unveiled a heartfelt new single titled “Last Time I Saw You,” which is set to be included on her upcoming album Pink Friday 2. The song showcases a more subdued side of the Queens rapper, blending indie-inspired instrumentals with poignant lyrics.
In June, Minaj announced the imminent release of her fifth studio album, Pink Friday 2, marking the sequel to her Grammy-nominated debut album Pink Friday. Fans can anticipate the album’s arrival this winter.
The track delves into themes of parting and lost opportunities. Minaj sings, “Begging me to stay and then you walk away / There’s something that you wanted to say / I was in a rush and you say you were crushed / But I said I’d be back, it’s OK.”
Taking to Twitter, Minaj explained that the song encapsulates a sense of hope amidst loss. She expressed how writing, recording, and living with it ultimately encouraged her to cherish the people she still has and to celebrate the present moment by expressing admiration and affection for her loved ones.

Pink Friday 2 is one of the year’s most anticipated releases and is scheduled to drop on November 17 via Heavy On It/10K Projects/Capitol Records, a record label Minaj herself launched in April. The album is poised to deliver what Minaj calls “eargasms” to her dedicated fanbase.
