Glasto 2024: Woodsies Packed with Indie Royalty and Rising Stars

Glastonbury

Glastonbury Festival has unveiled the lineup for the Woodsies area, a haven for indie music lovers. Joining previously announced acts like Jamie xx, Romy, James Blake, and Sleaford Mods is a who’s who of alternative music.

Kim Gordon, a true icon of the 90s alternative scene with her legendary band Sonic Youth, brings her raw energy to Worthy Farm. Fresh off the critical acclaim of her solo album “The Collective,” she joins the Woodsies stage.

The Vaccines, who recently gave The Libertines a run for their money with their debut album hitting number two in the UK charts, are also on the bill. They’ll be sharing the spotlight with rising stars like Lambrini Girls, Voice of Baceprot, and The K’s.

JayaHadADream, a Nottingham-based rapper who wowed judges with her thought-provoking hip-hop, takes the stage after winning Glastonbury’s 2024 Emerging Talent Competition. Her victory highlights the festival’s commitment to showcasing the next generation of musical talent.

The Woodsies experience extends beyond the main stage. The Tree Stage, nestled within the area, boasts a lineup featuring The Orb, Ana Roxanne, KMRI, Klein, and Bea Brennan, offering a platform for established and emerging electronic acts.

This year’s festival builds on its commitment to inclusivity. Following the introduction of a dedicated South Asian stage at Shangri-La in 2023, the Acoustic Stage lineup reflects a diverse range of artists, including Scouting For Girls, Stornoway, Ocean Colour Scene, Angie McMahon, and the Red Hot Chilli Pipers (yes, the cover band!). Even Russell Crowe’s Indoor Garden Party makes an appearance, adding a touch of unexpected fun.

Glastonbury 2024 takes place from June 26th to June 30th. Head over to the festival website for the complete lineup and stage breakdowns to plan your musical adventure!
