Jimin, a prominent member of BTS, has released his highly anticipated pre-release single, “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band,” featuring Loco. This track offers fans a preview of his upcoming second solo album, MUSE, which will be available on July 19.

Inspired by The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band” combines hip-hop rhythms with the dynamic sounds of a marching band. Jimin teamed up again with producers Pdogg, GHSTLOOP, and EVAN, who worked on his debut solo album, FACE. The production team also includes Tommy Brown, known for his work with artists like Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, and Mr. Franks.

The song’s title references the mythical flower “Smeraldo”, symbolizing “the truth untold.” The lyrics explore themes of longing and unspoken love, tying into the “Smeraldo” legend previously mentioned in BTS’ “The Truth Untold” featuring Steve Aoki from their album LOVE YOURSELF 轉 ‘Tear’.

The music video, now available on HYBE LABELS’ YouTube channel, begins with a tranquil setting before focusing on Jimin, who performs as the lead vocalist. Producers Pdogg, GHSTLOOP, and EVAN appear as the band’s musicians, with a special cameo by Loco. The video’s vintage feel is enhanced by cinematic opening credits and a grainy texture, showcasing Jimin’s smooth dance moves and versatile vocals.

MUSE, Jimin’s second solo album, will feature a collection of tracks centered around the theme of love. The album’s tracklist includes “Rebirth”, “Interlude: Showtime,” “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band” featuring Loco, “Slow Dance” featuring Sofia Carson, “Be Mine”, “Who,” and “Closer Than This,” which was released in December.

Jimin has consistently impressed audiences with his distinctive vocals and wide vocal range, evident in solo tracks like “Lie”, “Serendipity,” and “Promise.” His collaborations, such as “With You” from the Our Blues OST and “VIBE” with Taeyang, highlight his versatility. His debut solo album, FACE, made history by making him the first South Korean solo artist to top.

Since their debut in June 2013, BTS—comprising RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook—has achieved tremendous success. The group is known for their self-produced music, energetic performances, and strong connection with their fans, known as ARMY. They have earned numerous awards, including six No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 singles and multiple sold-out stadium tours worldwide.

The release of “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band” marks a significant step for Jimin as he explores new musical styles and themes. The single’s unique blend of genres and its connection to the larger narrative of the MUSE album highlight Jimin’s artistic evolution.

Fans can listen to “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band” featuring Loco now and look forward to the release of MUSE on July 19. This album promises to provide deeper insights into Jimin’s creative vision and his ability to merge diverse musical styles into cohesive and impactful art.
