The original Illuminati Strange design may be seen in concept art for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The sequel to the 2016 film Doctor Strange, which was released in May 2022, included a large number of new realms courtesy of the multiverse-jumping abilities of newcomer America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez).
A variation of Strange had previously been a member of the Illuminati, the most potent group of superheroes to have ever existed in that world until he was corrupted by the Darkhold and willingly put to death. This version of Earth-838 is one of the most intriguing universes that Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and America have visited.
Illuminati Strange, who was only briefly seen in the movie, was given a closer look thanks to a concept image that visual artist Ian Joyner Art shared on Instagram.
Illuminati Strange’s elaborate clothing is depicted in detail in the most recent concept art, which is mostly blue and resembles Strange’s comic book look but lacks his distinctive red cape. The illustrator claims that drawings made for Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), which merged armor features with fabrics, served as inspiration for the Illuminati Strange’s appearance.
