Amanda Seyfried has revived prospects for a sequel to the 2009 cult horror-comedy Jennifer’s Body. Seyfried, in recent interviews, expressed her willingness to revisit the world of the film, which she termed “perfect” despite its failure to perform well at the box office initially. “I’m excited about the sequel. They’re writing it. I already gave thumbs up. I was like, whenever you’re ready, I’m ready,” she said.
The original film, directed by Karyn Kusama and written by Diablo Cody, starred Megan Fox as Jennifer Check, a high school girl possessed by a demon, and Amanda Seyfried as her socially awkward best friend, Needy Lesnicki. While the movie initially underperformed, it gained a devoted fanbase and is now celebrated as a feminist cult classic.

Amanda Seyfried reflected on her character, Needy, and stated that she would want her to be in a “power position” if there were to be a sequel. Fox suggested making the story into a TV series, sparking speculation as to what next for it.
Diablo Cody, the film’s screenwriter, has also expressed interest in revisiting the project. She said last year that the cult status the film has attained recently has renewed her interest in it. “I am not done with Jennifer’s Body. I have to work with people who are as passionate about it as I am,” she said.
While there is no official word, the mounting pressure for the sequel suggests the return of Jennifer Check might be sooner rather than later. Fans of the cult classic can anticipate an update as the project moves forward, with Amanda Seyfried, Megan Fox, and Cody all confirming that they are committed to bringing the tale back to life.
