Celeste’s Anthem Debuts in ‘The Day of the Jackal’ Opening

Oscar nominee and celebrated British singer-songwriter Celeste has returned with a powerful new single, “This Is Who I Am,” chosen as the title track for the upcoming original series The Day of the Jackal, set to premiere on Sky and Peacock. Known for her chart-topping album Not Your Muse and her Academy Award-nominated song “Hear My Voice,” Celeste brings her unique sound to the highly anticipated thriller, delivering a bold piece that anchors the series’ opening sequence.

Produced in collaboration with Beach Noise, known for their work with Kendrick Lamar, Celeste’s new track underscores the series’ intensity and suspense. The title sequence, crafted by Hingston Studio and released on Monday, pairs striking visuals with Celeste’s evocative vocals, setting the tone for a gripping story that follows Eddie Redmayne as an assassin caught in a dangerous game with a determined British intelligence officer, portrayed by Lashana Lynch.

The series, which features an ensemble cast including Charles Dance, Richard Dormer, and Úrsula Corberó, unfolds across Europe as Redmayne’s character, known as “the Jackal,” finds himself pursued by Lynch’s character in a high-stakes chase. The storyline promises relentless action, with the Jackal leaving chaos in his wake as he evades his pursuer.

Produced by Carnival Films, a part of Universal International Studios, The Day of the Jackal is scheduled to premiere on November 7 on Sky and NOW in the U.K., and November 14 on Peacock in the U.S. Celeste’s “This Is Who I Am” is now available, marking her impactful return to the music scene as she lends her voice to this dramatic series.
