BLACKPINK member Jennie ‘s solo venture has reached an impressive milestone as her music video for “Solo” surpasses 1 billion views on YouTube, cementing her status as one of the top soloists in the K-pop scene.

The music video for Jennie’s debut solo single, “Solo,” initially released in 2018, has achieved the remarkable feat of crossing the 1 billion views mark on YouTube. This accomplishment adds another accolade to BLACKPINK’s list of achievements, with several of their music videos, including “Ddu-du Ddu-du” and “Boombayah,” also surpassing the 1 billion views mark.

Jennie’s achievement makes her only the second solo K-pop artist to reach 1 billion views with a single music video, following in the footsteps of Psy’s iconic 2012 hit, “Gangnam Style,” which set the precedent for K-pop’s global dominance on YouTube.

In related news, fellow BLACKPINK member Jisoo has embarked on her solo journey by launching her own label, Blissoo. Describing it as a “new start,” Jisoo aims to spread joy and happiness through her new venture, following the footsteps of bandmates Jennie and Lisa, who launched their labels, Odd Atelier (OA) and LLOUD, respectively.

The launch of Blissoo comes amidst reports that all four members of BLACKPINK will not be renewing their individual contracts with YG Entertainment. While Jisoo’s solo venture takes shape, Rosé, the fourth member of BLACKPINK, has teased fans with a snippet of her new song, “vampirehollie,” signaling her upcoming endeavors as a solo artist.

In December 2023, BLACKPINK signed an exclusive contract for group activities with YG Entertainment, signaling their commitment to continue releasing new music and embarking on world tours. As each member of BLACKPINK ventures into solo territory, fans eagerly anticipate the next chapter in their illustrious careers.
