Jamie xx, the renowned instrumentalist and producer from the indie-rock trio The xx, has made a triumphant return to the music scene. On January 9, he released “It’s So Good,” an enthralling single that doubles as the soundtrack for the latest Chanel Coco Crush campaign.

This latest offering, “It’s So Good,” is a sonic journey that intertwines art and fashion within its musical tapestry. The track features trippy synths and pulsating percussion, conjuring the atmosphere of an eclectic rave and transporting listeners to a realm of auditory euphoria. This release marks Jamie’s first solo endeavor since almost two years ago.

Apart from his solo career, Jamie is part of The xx, alongside Romy Madley Croft and Oliver Sim. Their last group album was 2017’s “I See You.” Since that release, all three members have explored solo projects, but a recent revelation indicates a return to their roots. In an interview with NME, Croft disclosed that The xx has reunited in the studio, working on new material.

It’s a significant return for the trio, who have spent considerable time focusing on individual musical exploration. Croft expressed her excitement about reintegrating the guitar into their sound, aiming to evolve their style while leveraging the learnings from their solo pursuits. She commented, “I think I want to keep evolving though. I think we all do. That’s why I wanted to do this project, to learn and specifically to work with other people. To learn how they work. To come back to Oliver and Jamie and think, ‘Well, I learned this stuff from these other people, and we can bring that fresh energy into things.’”
