Liverpool-based band Crawlers has released their latest grungy single, “Call It Love,” offering a glimpse into their upcoming debut album, “The Mess We Seem to Make,” set to be released on February 16, 2024. The track explores the romanticization of love in toxic relationships, portraying the complexity of emotions in such situations.
Lead singer Holly Minto shared insights into the song, stating, “‘Call It Love’ romanticises the desire to love someone despite it being a toxic situation. You call a relationship love because you feel like that’s what you deserve, but that doesn’t mean that that’s what it actually is.”
Minto further discussed the upcoming album, describing it as a result of the band honing their craft, being vulnerable with each other, finding their sound, and expressing exactly what they wanted. She emphasized the honesty within Crawlers’ sound, sharing emotions, trying and failing, and pushing each other to explore the limits of playing and writing.

The band’s debut mixtape, Loud Without Noise, was released in November last year, receiving praise for embodying the spirit of a young band in the current era—fluid in style, connected online, and addressing difficult subjects thoughtfully.
