Olivia Rodrigo, whose sophomore album Guts dropped just months ago, is back with new music that’s generating tremendous buzz, especially as part of one of this year’s most highly-anticipated movie releases. In preparation for the premiere of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, Rodrigo has unveiled “Can’t Catch Me Now,” a song she wrote for the film’s upcoming soundtrack.
“Can’t Catch Me Now” resonates with a theme of triumph, as Rodrigo’s powerful voice emerges in the face of adversity. In the chorus, she sings, “I’m in the trees, I’m in the breeze / My footsteps on the ground / You see my face in every place / But you can’t catch me now.”
The movie’s soundtrack is set to coincide with the film’s release later this month and will feature songs performed by the lead actress, Rachel Zegler. Joining Zegler on the soundtrack are Flatland Calvary, Molly Tuttle, Billy Strings, and more.

As a prequel, the film unfolds 64 years prior to the events in the original Hunger Games movies and books. It tells the story of a young Coriolanus, portrayed by Tom Blyth, the last heir of a declining lineage, the once-victorious Snow family, who have fallen from grace in the aftermath of a war. In the movie, Coriolanus is paired with a mentor named Lucy Gray Baird, played by Rachel Zegler, a tribute from the impoverished District 12. Together, they embark on a journey to alter their destinies.
