The song, which translates to “a thousand times” in English, explores the lamentation of a turbulent love affair and the repetitive cycle of returning to old patterns while grappling with the desire to break free. As Anitta sings, “Ya lo hemos hecho mil veces” (“We have already done it a thousand times”), she captures the essence of a relationship dynamic many can relate to.

In the steamy music video, Anitta shares the screen with Italian rockstar Damiano David from Måneskin. Together, they vividly act out the toxic and passionate cycle that encapsulates the essence of the song. From steamy shower scenes to heated arguments, the video exudes the sensuality and volatility of the relationship.

“Mil Veces” is part of Anitta’s endeavor to reconnect with her Brazilian roots on Funk Generation after exploring various musical styles and languages in her 2022 album, Versions Of Me. Her journey back to her roots includes her EP, A Favela Love Story, which featured the song “Casi Casi.“
