Renowned British musician Birdy made an exciting debut of her latest track “Paradise Calling” on BBC Radio 2, hosted by Jo Whiley, on July 12, 2023. The vibrant track emerges as the fourth single from her soon-to-be-released fifth studio album “Portraits,” scheduled for launch on August 18, 2023.

Birdy, whose earlier work was predominantly solemn and emotional, took a distinctive turn this time around. With “Paradise Calling,” she adventurously steps into the realm of rhythmic dance music, bringing an invigorating dimension to her rich discography. This intriguing departure from her usual style underscores her versatility as an artist.

The team behind the song’s creation includes Anya Louise Jones, Edward James Carlile, and Jasmine Van den Bogaerde, with production led by Jones, Birdy, and King Ed. Their collective talent has certainly been instrumental in shaping the track into an appealing dance number, likely to resonate with both existing fans and newcomers to Birdy’s music.

In addition to the song’s premiere, Birdy shared some behind-the-scenes details about the music video for “Paradise Calling,” which is currently under wraps but expected to be released soon. In her conversation with Jo Whiley, she painted a vivid picture of what fans can look forward to.

“I’m enjoying it. It’s fun. I just shot the video for this song and so I’ve been doing some dancing. It’s just new for me. I really loved doing the videos, but yeah, this the first time we’ve attempted to do some kind of dance. But yeah, it’s fun. It’s literally just me, dancing. I had an amazing choreographer who was helping me with it, but I actually haven’t seen in the final thing yet. So I don’t know how it’s gonna turn out. I might be awful. But I had a lot of fun,” she stated.

From her words, it’s clear that this music video promises to show Birdy in a light never seen before – literally dancing to her own tune. Eager fans are keen to see how the songstress’ energetic choreography will complement the vibrant rhythm of “Paradise Calling.”

In summary, Birdy‘s new track is not only a testament to her growth as an artist but also her willingness to venture outside her comfort zone. With her experimentation on “Paradise Calling,” Birdy is undeniably setting the stage for the grand reveal of her much-anticipated album “Portraits”. Fans can mark their calendars for August 18 and look forward to what’s undoubtedly going to be an exciting release.
