Unforgettable Moments from Glastonbury 2023 Capaldi and Del Rey’s Premature Exits

Glastonbury 2023 went down in history this past weekend for all the right reasons – and a couple of the wrong ones. Two highlights of the festival included memorable performances from the world-renowned artists, Lewis Capaldi and Lana Del Rey, both of whom left the stage prematurely, giving the festival attendees a night to remember.

First on the iconic Pyramid Stage was none other than Lewis Capaldi, the platinum-selling singer-songwriter from Scotland. Capaldi had the crowd enraptured with his enchanting performance. However, in a dramatic twist, he cut his performance short and departed mid-song, leaving fans and festival-goers in shock. The reason? Capaldi revealed on his Instagram that his voice had given out, forcing him to make the gut-wrenching decision to leave the stage.

I’m absolutely gutted. I had to stop because my voice was shot. I’d hate to give you a performance that was anything less than my best.

Following Capaldi’s abrupt exit was American singer-songwriter, Lana Del Rey, known for her cinematically dramatic performances. Del Rey, like Capaldi, had to cut her performance short due to a sudden power outage. The festival organisers managed to restore power but not before Del Rey had left the stage, leaving her fans in a similar state of surprise. Del Rey took to Twitter to express her disappointment and apologize to her fans.

I’m so sorry for the unexpected end to our night. The power went out and I couldn’t finish our set. I’m just as disappointed as you are.
