“Come Home” by Thomas Day A Breakup Anthem

Thomas Day

Thomas Day, a rising pop singer-songwriter, has just released his new single “Come Home” on June 9, 2023. The song is a heartfelt ballad about letting go of a past love and moving on with life.

The song was produced by POM POM, who also co-wrote it with Thomas and Jesse Finkelstein. The lyrics express the mixed feelings of nostalgia, regret, and acceptance that come with breaking up with someone you cared about.

You said you’re finding yourself
Finally healing, I’m glad to hear it
You said you don’t need my help
Keeping your tears back, it’s pretty clear that
We’re not who we were when we were younger
It doesn’t mean that I don’t ever wonder
Whether, in another love, we could’ve got it right
But you taught me
Some things are better broken
Some doors aren’t meant to open
Sometimes you gotta let go
You taught me
Some people come and go, but
Maybe that’s how you grow up
Maybe it’s better I don’t
Tell you, “Come home”, “Come home”
Tell you, “Come home”

Thomas revealed the inspiration behind the song in an interview with Sweety High:

I wrote “Come Home” while I was out in Los Angeles. The week before, I had been sitting at home and reflecting on the past—the first time I was lied to, the first time I felt heartbreak, etc. I felt out of life and energy. When I got to L.A., I was writing with my friend Jesse Fink and PomPom. We started talking about our experiences and how we dealt with them. We realized that sometimes the best thing you can do is to let go of someone who doesn’t want to be with you anymore. That’s how “Come Home” was born.

The song is the lead single from Thomas’s upcoming debut album, which is expected to be released later this year under Arista Records and Sony Music Entertainment. The album will showcase Thomas’s versatile vocal range and musical style, influenced by pop, rock, R&B, and soul.

Thomas first rose to fame as a contestant on season 15 of America’s Got Talent in 2020, where he impressed the judges and viewers with his powerful performances of songs like “Break My Heart Again” by Finneas and “Someone You Loved” by Lewis Capaldi. He made it to the semifinals before being eliminated.

Since then, he has been working hard on his music career, releasing singles like “Lonely” and “Can’t Stay Here”. He has also collaborated with other artists like Loren Gray, AJ Mitchell, and Johnny Orlando.

Thomas is passionate about using his music to connect with his fans and inspire them to follow their dreams. He hopes that his songs will help them cope with their emotions and challenges in life.
