Sabrina Carpenter Apologizes to Fans as Portland Show was Canceled Due to Security Threat

On Monday, Sabrina Carpenter‘s show at Keller Auditorium was canceled due to “unforeseen circumstances.” The following day, the singer apologized to her fans in Portland and explained that the cancellation was out of her control. She assured them that refunds would be available and expressed her disappointment that the show couldn’t go on.

Rolling Stone reported that the cancellation was due to a credible security threat that was made to the Crystal Ballroom, where Carpenter was originally scheduled to perform. An anonymous person called the venue and claimed that they were going to blow it up.

Even though Carpenter had moved her performance to the larger Keller Auditorium, the promoter and her team decided to cancel the show for the safety of her fans.

The police sent out extra patrols around both venues but found no explosive devices. AEG Presents stated that while the threat was not directed at Keller Auditorium specifically, they chose to err on the side of caution and cancel the show. The audience was safely and calmly escorted out of the venue.
