Queen of melancholia and glamor is back with another signature track called “Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd.” The new single is the first off the forthcoming ninth studio album, which will come out March 10th via Interscope and Polydor Records.
Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd is the follow-up to last year’s Blue Banisters, released October 22, 2021. For this album, Lana Del Rey collaborated with many renowned artists, producers, and professionals like Jack Antonoff, Drew Erickson, Zach Dawes, Jon Batiste, Father John Misty, Tommy Genesis, andLaura Sisk, and others.
With gloomy and poetic phrases like “Love me until I love myself,” “Don’t forget me like the tunnel under Ocean Boulevard,” and “I can’t help but feel somewhat like my body marred my soul/ Handmade beauty sealed up by two man-made walls,” the singer-songwriter brings life to lyrics that insinuate feelings of loneliness and fear of being forgotten.
