Jack Harlow Steals The Title Of ‘Songwriter of the Year’ For The Second Year In A Row

24-year-old American rapper wins “Songwriter of the Year” at the 2022 Society of European Stage Authors and Composers (SESAC) Music Awards. Jackman Thomas Harlow received the acclaimed award for the second consecutive year for “Industry Baby.”

The Grammy nominated superhit tied with Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves,” which was co-written by Dave Bayley. Both songs topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart. “Industry Baby” was nominated  for best melodic rap performance as Glass Animals was nominated for best new artist.

Held at The London in West Hollywood on September 21, the Performing Rights Organization honored the songwriters and music publishers of 2022’s most popular songs. Nine time Grammy winner Bryan-Michael Cox, who is attributed with 35 No. 1 hit songs, was recognized with the SESAC Icon Award. Over the span of his career, the songwriter and producer has collaborated with Usher, Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber, Mary J. Blige, and others.

In addition to Harlow, the event was attended by music industry’s finest executives, artists, songwriters, and publishers including Cox, Robert Glasper, Kenyon Dixon, Alex Isley, and Dixson.
