Daniel Radcliffe Plays Parody King “Weird Al” Yankovic In New Biopic

The new trailer for Weird: The Al Yankovic Story is out and it features Daniel Radcliffe as the rebellious singer. Starring alongside Radcliffe are Evan Rachel Wood as Madonna, Rainn Wilson as Dr. Demento, Quinta Brunson as Oprah Winfrey, and Julianne Nicholson as Mary Yankovic.

Co-written and directed by Eric Appel, the upcoming film is soundtracked by Yankovic’s 1985 Madonna parody “Like a Surgeon.” The movie will be available to stream on The Roku Channel starting November 4, and the premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival is set for September.

Produced by Funny Or Die and Tango, the mockumentary follows the untold story of the  five-time Grammy winner who came to prominence with parody songs like “White & Nerdy,” “Another One Rides the Bus,” and “Smells Like Nirvana.”

Despite his unconventional methods, “Weird Al” Yankovic is the best-selling comedy recording artist of all time. His debut comedy album “Mandatory Fun,” which was released in 2014, topped at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart.
