American Rapper Lil Tjay Drops New “Beat the Odds” Video: First One Since He Was Shot

Tione Jayden Merritt, also known as Lil Tjay released a new video for his recent single “Beat the Odds,” which refers to the shooting incident that the rapper survived back in June.

The  21-year-old singer-songwriter looks to be having a medical neck brace on, in the “Beat the Odds” cover art. The single is accompanied by visuals, directed by Lil Tjay himself, lying in a hospital bed. The “Resume” artist has also included the audio recordings of the 911 call from the day he was shot.

“Beat the Odds” follows the single “Goin Up,” and is the first song Lil Tjay has released since the tragedy occurred. The rapper’s Destined 2 Win album also came out last year. In a genuine statement, Tjay expresses gratitude, thanking people for their compassion: “I’m thankful for the love and support I’ve received from my fans, family and friends. This has been a long road to recovery but I’m happy to have a second chance. Stay tuned…I’m back.”
