600 journalists coming from 117 different countries joined forces to open Pandora’s box revealing the financial embezzlement of celebrities, world leaders, clergies, and entrepreneurs.
The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists has released a report on Sunday revealing how the corrupt elite uses offshore business for tax evasion purposes.
The report included more than 330 current and former world leaders, including Jordan’s King Abdullah II, former U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair, Czech Republic Prime Minister Andrej Babis, Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta, Ecuador’s President Guillermo Lasso, and associates of both Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The investigation also showed that the offshore companies created by the corrupt elite were mainly registered in the British Virgin Islands, Seychelles, Hong Kong, Belize, among many others.
Until now, most of the mentioned names in the investigation refused to confirm or deny the allegations.
