New law in Texas: after about six weeks of pregnancy Texas officially bans abortions.
The United States Supreme Court declined to block this new law in Texas.
There were several objections.
One of the most famous anti-abortion groups in the state, Texas Right to Life, was satisfied that abortions will finally stop.
From the other side, the majority wrote “In particular, this order is not based on any conclusion about the constitutionality of Texas’s law, and in no way limits other procedurally proper challenges to the Texas law, including in Texas state courts.”
Five members of the high court, three of whom were chosen by Donald Trump – Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett, voted to let the Texas new abortion law remain valid.
