In an exciting announcement for his fans, the Australian singer-songwriter Troye Sivan declared that his third studio album, “Something To Give Each Other”, will officially hit the shelves on October 13, 2023. This marks Sivan’s first musical production in half a decade, since the release of the 2018 album “Bloom”.
The upcoming album features a well-rounded collection of ten tracks. Speaking about the album on social media, Sivan shared, “This album is my something to give you – a kiss on a dancefloor, a date turned into a weekend, a crush, a winter, a summer. Party after party, after party after after party. Heartbreak, freedom. Community, sisterhood, friendship. All that.”
The first appetizer of the album was served with the release of the single titled “Rush” on July 13, 2023. A collaborative creation, the song was penned by Sivan himself, along with Brett McLaughlin, Alex Chapman, Adam Novodor, Kevin Hickey, and Kaelyn Behr. The production was skillfully managed by Zhone, Novodor, and Styalz Fuego, bringing the song to life.
Along with the single, an accompanying music video was unveiled, under the careful directorship of Gordon von Steiner. The single, as explained by Sivan, manifests the vibrant experiences of his life. He expressed, “Rush” is the feeling of kissing a sweaty stranger on a dancefloor, a 2 hour date that turned into a weekend, a crush, a winter, a summer, He continued, “Party after party, after party after after party. All of my experiences from a chapter where I feel confident, free and liberated. Independent, yet somehow the most connected to the music and community around me.”
The heartfelt reveal of the album and its first single, “Rush”, showcase Sivan‘s unique journey over the years. After a five-year hiatus, his return with this album reflects not only his growth as an artist but also his connection with his community. The album, as Sivan suggests, is more than just music; it’s his way of expressing love, camaraderie, and personal freedom. With the announcement and release of “Rush“, fans eagerly await what other experiences the full album “Something To Give Each Other” will encapsulate.
