Midnights, Taylor Swift’s tenth studio album, is out now, and it’s full of surprises. The pop artist released 13 personal new songs, said there will be a music video for each song, debuted the first one for “Anti-Hero,” and even hinted at the arrival of seven more tracks.
A flurry of stills from unreleased music videos, many of which appear to be references to earlier Swift music videos, appear in the 40-second teaser. We also see Swift briefly stroking the back of her partner as she lies in bed, and when fans discovered it was transgender model Laith Ashley, they went crazy.
Ashley appears to be cast as Swift’s romantic interest in at least one of the music videos. Although Ashley hasn’t yet offered a response to the revelation. Jack Antonoff, Laura Dern, Mike Birbiglia, John Early, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Pat McGrath, Dita Von Teese, and the Haim sisters will all appear in the videos. Although a release date hasn’t been set, Amazon Music is most likely where it will make its debut.
Swift also revealed that fans would soon receive seven additional bonus tracks! “Surprise!” she said on social media. “I think of Midnights as a complete concept album, with those 13 songs forming a full picture of the intensities of that mystifying, mad hour. However! There were other songs we wrote on our journey to find that magic 13.”
The Great War, “Bigger Than the Whole Sky,” “Paris,” “High Infidelity,” “Glitch,” “Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve,” and “Dear Reader” are among the other songs. Keep an eye on the news, Swifites—unclear it’s how or when those will release!
