Considered as one of the greatest rock albums ever made, a new Deluxe Edition of Revolver will be released worldwide on October 28th via Apple Corps Ltd./Capitol/UMe. The Beatles have announced that the reissue will include brand new stereo mixes of the original 14-track mono LP, remastered by producer Giles Martin and engineer Sam Okell.
Thanks to the cutting edge de-mixing technology developed by Peter Jackson’s WingNut Films Productions Ltd, the new expanded version, which is sourced from the original four-track master tapes, will have a high-quality rerelease. Revolver has 63 tracks and will be available for download and streaming, plus 5CD/4LP Super Deluxe, 2CD Deluxe, Picture Disk, 1LP, and 1CD. It will be accompanied with unheard outtakes, rehearsals, session recordings, home demos, a 100-page book, in addition to the “Paperback Writer” and “Rain” EP.
With beloved classics like “Eleanor Rigby” and “Yellow Submarine,” the original sounds of the experimental album Revolver had influences of psychedelia, chamber music, Indian raga, and soul. John’s home demo reveals that “Yellow Submarine” originally had a melancholic acoustic ballad vibe, which later evolved into the internationally cherished anthem it is today. The new “Taxman” remix is already out.
At the 2022 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, The Beatles: Get Back series won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series. Peter Jackson was also awarded in the Directing for a Documentary/Nonfiction Program.
During the past five years, The Beatles have reissued Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band(2017), Abbey Road (2019) and more recently the 1970 album Let It Be.
