U2 has unveiled a new track titled “Happiness,” featured in their upcoming collection How To Re-Assemble An Atomic Bomb. This album includes ten songs from the original recording sessions for How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, the band’s celebrated, eight-time Grammy-winning album. The collection showcases new and previously unreleased tracks that have recently been rediscovered in the band’s archives. It will be available as a standalone album on November 29.
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, a dual digital release will be offered on November 22, combining both albums.
“Happiness” follows the earlier releases of “Country Mile” and “Picture Of You (X + W)” from the same collection. Additionally, “Happiness” will be featured on Apple Music’s New Music Daily, along with an exclusive interview with The Edge and Adam Clayton conducted by Zane Lowe.
Reflecting on the recording sessions for How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, The Edge noted that this period was creatively fruitful for the band, allowing them to explore various song ideas and reconnect with their early influences. He emphasized that the sessions were marked by personal introspection for Bono as he processed significant life events.
The anniversary edition promises to deliver a unique experience, showcasing the raw energy and musical synergy of the band during a pivotal moment in their history. With this release, U2 invites fans to rediscover their sound through both familiar and new material.
