Prime Video’s The Boys universe continues to grow with its newest addition, Vought Rising, a prequel series that will dive into the dark origins of Vought International. San Diego Comic-Con 2024 introduced the show, this dark murder mystery that will send viewers back in time to the 1950s, delivering a dark exploration of the early adventures of two legendary characters: Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) and Stormfront (Aya Cash), a.k.a. Clara Vought.
The series will explore the shadowy history of Vought, revealing Clara Vought’s manipulative schemes and Soldier Boy’s morally ambiguous antics. Set in 1950s New York, it will blend period mystery with the dark humor, gore, and social commentary of the franchise. Executive producer Eric Kripke refers to it as a “salacious, grisly saga soaked in blood and Compound V,” ensuring The Boys viewers will have plenty to indulge in.
Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash reprise their roles as Soldier Boy and Stormfront, respectively, and also executive produce. Cast additions include Blue Bloods star Will Hochman and Euphoria actress Elizabeth Posey, though their roles are being mummed.
Mason Dye, who will play Bombsight in The Boys Season 5, will also reportedly feature. The series will explore the origins of Compound V, how the first Supes were produced, and Vought International’s power dynamics.
With its 1950s setting, Vought Rising will offer a fresh take on the franchise that combines period drama with the show’s trademark chaos. There is much to expect from a character-driven narrative that is riddled with unexpected twists, bloody action, and black humor that has made The Boys a global hit.
