Lady Gaga recently shared a sneak peek of her highly anticipated album, ‘LG7’, with her fans. During an Instagram story update on July 28, Gaga, who just performed at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony, offered her followers a glimpse into what’s next. She expressed her gratitude for the support from her French fans and promised to share a few seconds of her new album that evening.
Videos that surfaced online captured Lady Gaga sitting atop a car outside her hotel, holding her laptop and playing two short excerpts of her new music. This month, the icon behind ‘Bad Romance’ confirmed she’s still actively recording new songs. She excited her fans by saying, “I can’t wait for you to hear what I’m working on.”
Since February, Lady Gaga has been hinting at her progress on the album with various posts, including images of her songwriting process. Despite holding a guitar in one photo, she clarified to her fans that she is not venturing into rock music. In May, Gaga discussed her creative drive for ‘LG7’, saying she is exploring what she described as the “art of intensity,” a theme she touched upon during her ‘Chromatica’ tour and wishes to continue.
Aside from her music, Gaga is set to appear as Harley Quinn in the upcoming ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ alongside Joaquin Phoenix this October. The film is described as a “jukebox musical” sequel to the 2019 film. Her portrayal of Harley Quinn is said to draw inspiration from the followers of Charles Manson and will intentionally include off-key notes.
Gaga explained that her approach to the role involved letting go of her usual singing technique to fully embrace the character’s essence.
