Katy Perry excitedly shared details about her much-anticipated sixth studio album titled ‘143’ during a recent Instagram Live session. Set to release this fall, Perry described this album as the dance project she has longed to produce.
On the live stream, Perry explained, “For the last eight years, I’ve envisioned creating two distinct albums: one dance and one acoustic. While the acoustic project is still on the drawing board, the dance album has finally come to fruition. It’s the album I’ve always dreamed of making.” She elaborated on the album’s vibe, noting, “It’s incredibly energetic, perfect for the summer, and it really pushes the tempo. We just had a family dance session to one of the tracks, and it was filled with joy, love, and a lot of light.”
While signing vinyl inserts during the live session, which was broadcast on both Instagram and TikTok Live, Perry previewed three upcoming tracks. One highlight includes a collaboration with Doechii on a track titled “I’m His He’s Mine,” which features a sample from Crystal Waters’ 1991 classic “Gypsy Woman (She’s Homeless).” Another song, “Gimme Gimme,” showcases a guest appearance by 21 Savage. She also gave fans a taste of “Nirvana,” another lively track from the album.
Perry emphasized that ‘143’ is designed to be a celebratory dance party, inviting fans from all music communities to join in. She described the album as high-energy, filled with love, and the perfect summer soundtrack.
