Courteeners Set the Stage: Exclusive Gig Before Major UK Festivals

Courteeners

The Manchester group Courteeners are gearing up for a big summer. They’re set to headline Lytham Festival in Lancashire on July 5th, sharing the stage with The Kooks and Nieve Ella in what promises to be their only show in northern England this season. The excitement doesn’t stop there; they’ll also rock the TRNSMT Festival in Glasgow on July 13th, performing alongside big names like Liam Gallagher and Calvin Harris.

But first, the band has a treat for their fans—an exclusive warm-up gig at Sheffield’s intimate 1,500-seat Octagon on July 4th. Tickets for this special Sheffield show go on sale this Friday, June 7, at 9am BST. Make sure to grab yours and get all the details from their latest announcement post.

The Courteeners aren’t just about live shows. They released their sixth studio album, ‘More. Again. Forever.’, in 2020 and celebrated a UK Number One with a reissue of their debut album ‘St. Jude’ last year. During a recent chat at Glastonbury 2023, lead singer Liam Fray shared that the band is working on not one, but two new albums. He described the upcoming projects as one being fun and the other filled with moody piano and drum machine sounds. Fray is excited about the unexpected hits that might come from these albums, embracing the unpredictability of music popularity.

There’s more on their summer agenda with performances at Boardmasters and Victorious Festival in August. In other exciting news, the Courteeners were recently crowned Band Of The Year at the first-ever Northern Music Awards in April.

Last September, the group shook up London with an energetic performance to celebrate the revival of Club NME, capped off with a surprise DJ set from The Libertines’ Carl Barât and Gary Powell. With so much on their plate, the Courteeners are undeniably owning the music scene this year.
