Spotify continues to evolve its platform with a range of new features designed to enhance the user experience. From AI-powered DJ recommendations to personalized Spotify Wrapped summaries, the streaming giant has been expanding its offerings. One of the latest additions to Spotify’s repertoire is the ability for users to watch music videos directly on the platform.
Here’s what you need to know about accessing music videos on Spotify.
Currently, the music video feature on Spotify is in beta testing phase, as reported by TechCrunch. While the feature is still being fine-tuned, Spotify has showcased artists like Asake who will have music videos available. Users interested in watching music videos can do so by clicking the “Switch To Video” button on select songs. This button allows users to seamlessly transition from listening to a song to watching its accompanying music video.
At present, this feature is available exclusively to Spotify Premium subscribers and is accessible in eleven countries. Sten Garmark, Spotify’s VP Global Head of Consumer Experience, provided insights into the beta rollout, stating, “For this beta rollout, we chose these markets based on a number of criteria including market size and the availability of local content support… Stay tuned as we hope to expand the catalog of music videos and increase availability to more countries.”
As Spotify continues to refine and expand its music video offerings, users can look forward to a more immersive and dynamic listening experience. With the potential for an expanded catalog of music videos and broader availability in the future, Spotify remains committed to providing innovative features that cater to the diverse preferences of its global user base.
