BTS member V is set to drop an exciting new digital single titled “Fri(end)s,” as confirmed by Big Hit Music. The label announced the upcoming release via BTS’ official social media channels, revealing that the track will fall into the pop soul R&B genre.
Accompanied by a teaser image featuring a simple pink graphic with the song title and V’s initial in a circle, the announcement also included the confirmed release date and time: March 15 at 1pm KST / 12am ET. Fans can expect a music video to drop alongside the single, promising a visual treat to complement the soulful sounds.
“Fri(end)s” marks V’s first solo music venture since his enlistment into the South Korean military in December 2023. It follows his debut solo mini-album, Layover, released in September last year. Despite his hiatus from solo activities, V recently starred in IU’s music video for “Love Wins All,” where the two portrayed a couple navigating a dystopian world while reminiscing about happier times.
Reflecting on V’s involvement in the music video, IU shared that she sent him the music first, and he was immediately drawn to it. His decision to star in the visual underscored his enthusiasm for the song, showcasing his commitment to delivering captivating performances beyond his work with BTS. As anticipation builds for “Fri(end)s,” fans eagerly await to hear V’s distinctive vocals in this latest solo endeavor.
