In a remarkable achievement, The Weeknd, the acclaimed singer-songwriter, has shattered yet another record with his recent London shows, this time achieving the highest number of ticket sales at the iconic Wembley Stadium.
Live Nation UK proudly revealed that the multi-Grammy-winning artist accomplished this feat by “breaking Wembley Stadium’s record for sales with their traditional concert set up.” The milestone was reached during The Weeknd’s London performance on August 18 as part of his ongoing After Hours ‘Til Dawn Tour, which marked the conclusion of the European leg.
This historic occasion was witnessed by a staggering 87,000 attendees who secured tickets to witness The Weeknd‘s electrifying performance. The artist, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, took to his now-expired Instagram stories to share his excitement over this accomplishment. The news was also celebrated by Cash, his XO record label co-founder, who congratulated him and expressed his awe.

This achievement follows closely on the heels of another record-breaking moment for The Weeknd in London. Just the previous month, he set the record for the highest attendance rate during his two-night spectacle at London Stadium, attracting a combined audience of 160,000 enthusiastic fans.
Omar Al-joulani, Live Nation’s Touring President, expressed his astonishment and appreciation for The Weeknd’s success. He stated, “It’s incredible to see the Weeknd hit this milestone less than halfway through his massive sold-out European run.” Darryl Eaton, CAA’s co-head of North American touring, joined in the praise, highlighting the pride in working with The Weeknd and his team.
Amassing approximately $350 million (£274,854,650) in revenue so far, according to Live Nation, The Weeknd’s global tour has been a resounding financial success. With the European leg concluded at Wembley, the artist is now set to embark on the next phase of his tour, covering South America and Mexico.
With over two million tickets already sold for the upcoming live dates, the tour’s momentum shows no sign of waning. The journey will commence at Estadio BBVA in Monterrey, Mexico on September 25 and conclude with a grand finale at Estadio Akron in Guadalajara, Mexico on October 25.
Amidst this ongoing success, The Weeknd confirmed that he is diligently “finishing” his new album, which is anticipated to conclude the trilogy encompassing After Hours and Dawn FM.
In another notable achievement, The Weeknd’s popularity on Spotify reached unparalleled heights. He emerged as the world’s most popular artist based on Spotify statistics, boasting a remarkable 111.4 million monthly listeners. This accolade followed closely after he became the first artist in Spotify’s history to achieve a monumental 100 million monthly listeners milestone.
