Dominic Fike has dropped a new video for his latest release, “Dancing in the Courthouse“, which is from his upcoming album set to release later this year. The song is the first new music from Fike in 2023, and it was inspired by his upbringing in Florida, as well as his misbehavior and run-ins with the law during his youth. Fike posted short vignettes on social media leading up to the release of the song, which featured him and his brother Alex sharing memories of their life in Florida.
Directed by Jack Begert, the music video finds Fike back in his hometown leaning into the unique Floridian culture. The video features short clips, including a high school football team cheering, a couple in a car with an air conditioner in the window, Fike himself floating in a pool wearing a belt that says “smile“, and more. Fike’s brother Alex is also featured in the video.
“Dancing in the Courthouse” is the first taste of Fike’s highly anticipated second album, which is set to release later this year via Colombia. Fike’s first LP, “What Could Possibly Go Wrong?“, was released in 2020, receiving rave reviews from critics. Since then, the singer has released various collaborations with Halsey, Justin Bieber, Remi Wolf, and Slowthai, among others. Last year, he released “Elliot’s Song“, featuring Zendaya, which he performed on the finale of “Euphoria’s” second season.
