Liam, move aside. Gerry put down that weapon. A new action star has arrived. She goes under the name Emma Thompson. Thompson is featured in the action thriller The Fisherwoman, demonstrating her versatility.
The script was written by Nicholas Jacobson-Larson and Dalton Leeb, and Brian Kirk will be directing. In the plot, Thompson will play a widowed fisherwoman who, while stranded in a blizzard in Minnesota, stops an abduction and quickly realizes that she is the young victim’s last hope.
Jon Berg, president of the production at Stampede Ventures, which is putting up some of the financings for the movie, mentioned that:
“Dame Emma Thompson is a phenomenally talented artist and the perfect incarnation of our film’s titular character. We couldn’t be more honored and excited to see her embody a character that shares her unique strength, grit and intelligence.”
The movie is now in pre-production, and this month’s European Film Market in Berlin will be where the distribution rights will be offered for sale.
