With the announcement of her pregnancy, Meghan Trainor has us curious. The 29-year-old singer of “All About That Bass” revealed on Jan. 30 that she is expecting her second child during an interview on TODAY.
“I’m pregnant!” Trainor, who already shares a son, Riley, with husband Daryl Sabara, told TODAY. “We did it!”
“When I was pregnant, I felt very alone,” Trainor shared of her first pregnancy. “It was also Covid times so I didn’t have any friends that were pregnant with me, and I just remember being like, I don’t want anyone else to feel like that. So now I can be your future bestie and I can help you and tell you all my TMI details of my pregnancy and how crazy it was.”
In a TikTok video from the day before, Trainor gave away the fact that she was expecting by showing how her friends and family were responding to a “secret I’ve been keeping for the past few months.”
Trainor revealed they know the baby’s sex but are going to keep it a secret for the time being after Sabara briefly joined him in congratulating the TODAY crew via video conference. Trainor stated she penned a book called “Dear Future Mama,” which would be released on April 25, at the same time that she announced she was expecting.
During a surprise appearance on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna in 2020, Trainor made her first pregnancy announcement. The singer remembers telling Hoda in a previous interview that she desired a huge brood.
“We were thinking about who do I tell first, and I was like, I told Hoda since I was 19 going to the TODAY show (that) I will have the most babies in the world,” she said. “It finally happened, and we’re so excited.”
Trainor had previously expressed her wish to have children. Trainor announced her wish to “make a bunch of babies” in an interview with E! News in October 2019.
