The planned alterations to the DC Universe have Jason Momoa’s support. James Gunn and Peter Safran were hired as co-CEOs after the reorganization of DC Studios in late 2017 and given the responsibility of revitalizing the DCU alongside Warner Bros. David Zaslav, president of Discovery, aspires to a more streamlined, orderly world that can compete with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
At some point this month, DC Studios plans to reveal some of the next slate of films in the new DC Universe, one of which is anticipated to be a film about a young Superman. Momoa recently attended what looks to be a conclave at Warner Bros. Discovery and shared his joyous news in his Instagram story (via The Hollywood Handle).

The future of the DC Universe has been uncertain as a result of numerous contentious and significant changes made at DC Studios, such as Henry Cavill’s departure as Superman and the cancellation of Wonder Woman 3. There has been a lot of ambiguity on whether the other Justice League actors will follow Cavill’s lead, but Momoa’s animated response raises the possibility that he may be involved in Gunn and Safran’s plans. On camera, Momoa says:
“I got some really good news. Great news with Warner Bros. Amazing. Wish I could tell you, but here it is. Peter [Safran], I love you. James [Gunn], I love you. David [Zaslvav]… To the future.”
