Yannick Ilunga, who is signed with the Domino Recording company, releases another single from his project Petite Noir. The Congolese singer-songwriter and record producer drops “Simple Things,” following October’s “Numbers.”
“Simple Things” is produced by Tropics and features the Jazz trumpeter Theo Croker. Released via Roya, the new track confirms Noir is ready to embark on a new journey and explore more the ‘Noirwave’ genre.
The song brings a new energy to the scene thanks to Noir’s alluring vocals, its percussion beats, Croker’s igniting trumpet sounds, and rousing lyrics, “It’s such a simple thing / They don’t want us to be equal/ I see the chaos it brings / I see the way of the people.”
Petite Noir’s latest project before “Simple Things” and “Numbers” was 2018’s La Maison Noir / The Black House. In 2020, he collaborated with the producer Kingdom on “Alive” and “Through the Bad Times.”
