Garage-rock band The Arcs return after 8 years, announcing the release of a new album titled Electrophonic Chronic. The 12-track record will be out January 27 via Easy Eye Sound, owned by the lead singer Dan Auerbach.
“Keep on Dreamin’” comes with an animated video illustrated by El Oms and directed by Robert “Roboshobo” Schober. The nostalgic song shows a yearning of past and irreplaceable times: “Go for a stroll in the park/ Keep my mind in the dark/ Nothing matters, no how/ Keep on dreamin’ now.”
Auerbach admits that getting back in the studio “was our favorite thing to do. It’s rare that you meet a group of people that you click with like that, who you instantly bond with. We were just having fun, making sounds, making music. It was an amazing time for me.”
The Black Keys guitarist and vocalist along with band members Leon Michels, Nick Movshon, and Homer Steinweiss, remember the late Richard Swift, who sadly passed away in 2018, and say that Electrophonic Chronic is a way to honor him, “It’s a way for us to say goodbye to him, by revisiting him playing and laughing, singing. It was heavy at times, but I think it was really helpful to do it.”
