A throwback video from the long-running reality series The X Factor was released over the weekend and featured never-before-seen footage from Harry Styles‘ initial audition.
In 2010, the only performance we saw of him was an a cappella version of Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely,” which received votes of confidence from Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole.
However, it transpires that Styles’ initial audition song was “Hey, Soul Sister” by Train. As a result of how poorly it went, Harry was instructed to attempt something new without a backing track.
More of Styles discussing his future aspirations, his job at a bakery, and how his mother always told him he was a talented singer can be found in the extended footage.
