Discovering new artists is always fun and today we’re bringing you Stanley, a Nigerian-Canadian artist whose music speaks for itself. The fresh talent has recently dropped his new album Resurrection full of exceptional music and profound words. Read his interview below!
What is your creative process like? Where did the ideas come from, how were they transformed in your mind, and how do you refine these beginnings into the finished work of art?
Thanks so much for the opportunity. My inspiration comes from many things, mostly from life experience. I take my ideas, record them and see if it feels the same or better than what was in my mind. If so, I keep recording it till I feel like it is perfect.
What is the inspiration behind your latest album Resurrection?
I was in a dark place when I was writing Resurrection as a body of work, it comes from knowing I will not be in [this] dark places forever. Also having the belief that my situation will get better.
What strengths do you have that you believe make you a great musician?
What makes me a great artist is my diversity. I try my best to understand many sounds to expand my expression in music.
What accomplishments do you see yourself achieving in the next 5 to 10 years?
In the next 5 to 10 years I see myself as one of the most loved artists in the world and also someone succeeding in business.
Do you feel that you chose your passion, or did it choose you?
I honestly think my passion chose me because it is one of the few things I am good at.
What is one message that you would like to share with your fans?
I appreciate them no matter how many they are.
