Who said science fiction would never become reality? With the current advancement in genetic technology it seems we are finally going to have a real breakthrough – a Jurassic Park moment, to be precise.
That’s right! A genetics professor from Harvard University – George Church – hopes to bring back the Woolly Mammoth after they went extinct thousands of years ago.
Church co-founded the company Colossal, whose ultimate goal is “to use CRISPR technology successfully in the de-extinction of previously lost species.”
As of the time of this writing, the team has successfully raised over fifteen million U.S dollars in funding for the mindblowing project.
To learn more about the work done by the Colossal team, be sure to check out the company’s official website for more information. You can also follow them on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
