Matthew Williams collaborates with artist Josh Smith, contrasting utilitarian design with the dreamy for Spring/Summer 2022

In this Spring/Summer 2022 collection, Matthew Williams explores the tension between utilitarian design and luxury fashion. In his “stratification of eras and influences” we see everything from floor-length tulle and broderie anglaise, to sculpted peplum and checked suiting. Williams collaborated with American artist Josh Smith to bring his unique color palette and signature designs to the collection, resulting in artwork-embellished pieces ranging from pumpkin handbags to vibrant hoodies. Clad in the brand’s unique take on a traditional clog, the models walked to music from Young Thug (who created the score for the show).
